Feature Description: The 'FFMVic response area 1.5km zone' layer, is a new zone outlined in the FRV-DELWP Agreement to enable FFMVic personnel to suppress fire within that zone within their normal operating capabilities. The 1.5km zone occurs only around relevant public land ( that is, State Forest, Protected Public Land, National Park, or Parks Victoria managed land outside of those public land areas of the FPA). This 1.5km Zone is not a responsibility area for FFMVic.

Situations in which FFMVic personnel may need to operate within the 1.5km zone include, following a bushfire that moves out of relevant public land (as defined above) into FRV district; or responding to a grassfire or bushfire in FRV district (within the 1.5km zone) which may impact relevant public land. FRV remain the control agency in this zone and must be notified of FFMVic operations within this zone. FFMVic must not follow a fire further into FRV district outside of the 1.5km zone without first receiving expressed direction or request from FRV.

There are operating protocols available on Tarnook explaining this 1.5km zone and the notification process further.
